ALPS Mountaineering Lynx 2P review
Best for: Two people on pads, backpacking or car camping
A two-door, two-vestibule aluminum-pole tent with a full fly that packs small; the 60 in wide floor is a squeeze for two adults and gear.
The Lynx 2 is a freestanding two-pole dome on 7000-series aluminum poles with clips. The 90 x 60 in floor (37 sq ft) has a 46 in center height, and two doors open onto two vestibules with 20 sq ft of storage. The 75D polyester fly has a 1500 mm coating and the floor 2000 mm, and half-mesh walls help airflow.
Good
- Two doors and two vestibules (20 sq ft) for gear and easy exits
- Freestanding two-pole aluminum frame with clips
- 1500 mm fly and 2000 mm floor coatings; full-coverage fly
Watch for
- 90 x 60 in floor fits two pads with little room for gear inside
- 46 in center height: sit-up only

Best for: Two campers on cold, windy or shoulder-season trips
A two-door, two-vestibule 4-season dome with a snow skirt for cold or windy nights; at 6.9 lb it is not ultralight, and 55 in is too narrow for a queen airbed.
Two aluminum poles make a freestanding double-wall dome with an 82.6 x 55 in floor and 45 in of height. The 210T ripstop polyester fly is rated PU 3000 mm, the floor PU 5000 mm, seams are taped, and a snow skirt seals the base. Each side has a D-shaped door and a 24 in wide vestibule. GEERTOP lists 6.9 lb, and it packs to about 17 x 7 x 7 in.
Good
- Two doors and two vestibules: no climbing over your tent mate
- Snow skirt, taped seams and a PU 5000 mm floor for cold, wet ground
- Aluminum poles; packs to about 17 x 7 x 7 in
Watch for
- 6.9 lb is heavy for a two-person tent
- 55 in floor width fits two pads, not a 60 in queen airbed
