Best for: Two adults and gear, or a family of four, in mild weather
A simple 4-person dome with an X-pole frame and Quick Corners, held back by fiberglass poles, one door and a partial fly.
The Discovery Basecamp 4 has a 97 x 79 in floor (53.22 sq ft) and a 58 in peak on three fiberglass poles in an X-pole layout with Quick Corners. The 68D polyester fly and floor are rated 1200 mm, and guylines come pre-attached. One D-door serves everyone, and the fly is a partial cover rather than a full one.
Good
- 97 x 79 in floor (53.22 sq ft) with a 58 in peak
- Quick Corners and an X-pole frame keep pitching simple
- Pre-attached guylines; 68D polyester fly and floor
Watch for
- Fiberglass poles are heavier and less durable than aluminum
- One door for four people, and a partial 1200 mm fly

- 85 x 96 in floor (57 sq ft)
- Freestanding X-pole frame on three poles
