ALPS Mountaineering Lynx 2P review
Best for: Two people on pads, backpacking or car camping
A two-door, two-vestibule aluminum-pole tent with a full fly that packs small; the 60 in wide floor is a squeeze for two adults and gear.
The Lynx 2 is a freestanding two-pole dome on 7000-series aluminum poles with clips. The 90 x 60 in floor (37 sq ft) has a 46 in center height, and two doors open onto two vestibules with 20 sq ft of storage. The 75D polyester fly has a 1500 mm coating and the floor 2000 mm, and half-mesh walls help airflow.
Good
- Two doors and two vestibules (20 sq ft) for gear and easy exits
- Freestanding two-pole aluminum frame with clips
- 1500 mm fly and 2000 mm floor coatings; full-coverage fly
Watch for
- 90 x 60 in floor fits two pads with little room for gear inside
- 46 in center height: sit-up only

Best for: Two people who want a light, small-packing tent for fair-weather trips
A light two-door dome that packs small and suits two sleepers on pads, but the 59 in wide floor is too narrow for a 60 in queen airbed.
A freestanding double-wall dome on two aluminum poles, with a D-shaped door and a vestibule on each side, so neither sleeper climbs over the other. The fly, floor and bathtub are 210T polyester with a PU 5000 coating and factory-sealed seams. The floor is 86.6 x 59 in with about 45 in of height, and the tent packs to 16.5 x 5.9 x 5.9 in.
Good
- Two doors and two vestibules: each sleeper gets their own exit and gear space
- Aluminum poles, 5.4 lb listed weight, packs to 16.5 x 5.9 x 5.9 in
- PU 5000 coated fly and bathtub floor with factory-sealed seams
Watch for
- 59 in wide floor is narrower than a 60 in queen airbed
- About 45 in of height: you sit up to change, you don't stand
