Amazon Basics 2P with Rainfly review
Best for: Two adults on fair-weather car-camping weekends
A small 7 x 5 ft sleeve-pole dome for two in mild weather; the fabric is only called water-resistant, with no rating, and there is one door.
A freestanding dome with shock-corded poles that slide through snag-free sleeves; Amazon says setup takes under 4 minutes. The floor is 7 x 5 ft with a 45 in center height, sized for two adults. The coated polyester has welded seams and a removable rainfly with a back window and a cool-air port. There is one door and an interior mesh pocket, and Amazon gives no waterproof rating.
Good
- 7 x 5 ft floor with 45 in center height for two adults
- Shock-corded poles in sleeves; Amazon claims setup in under 4 minutes
- Back window and cool-air port in the rainfly for airflow

Best for: One or two campers on sleeping pads in mild weather
A basic fiberglass dome that suits two people on pads in fair weather; the roof-only fly and single door are the trade-offs.
The Sundome 2 is a 7 x 5 ft dome with a 4 ft center height, one door, two windows and a ground vent. Coleman's WeatherTec floor uses welded corners and inverted seams, and the frame is wind-tested to 35 mph. The fly covers only the roof, with awnings over the door and window, so the side walls shed wind-driven rain on their own.
Good
- Welded-corner tub floor and inverted seams to keep ground water out
- 7.5 lb with poles, stakes and fly; packs to about 24 x 6 x 6 in
- E-Port lets you run an extension cord inside
Watch for
- Roof-only fly leaves the side walls exposed to blowing rain
- One door, so the inside sleeper climbs over; fiberglass poles
