What fits in the Ascent
Subaru's three-row: about 76 cu ft with both rear rows folded (86 on 2019-2022), standard all-wheel drive, and 8.7 inches of ground clearance for forest-service roads. That is full-size cargo space: nothing in the kit has to pack small.

Sleeping inside the Ascent
With the rear seats folded, the Subaru Ascent is the bed.
- On the cargo floor: the kit's pads, or swap them for a 4-inch SUV air mattress that fills the floor.
- For regular trips, a low plywood platform makes it a real bed with storage underneath.
- Crack the rear windows behind Subaru Ascent window rain guards and run a small fan to stop condensation.
